The family living in this Fairfax home experienced a tragedy one night in 2012. Â A fire broke out in their basement which contained furniture refinishing chemicals which burned and spread soot and contamination throughout the home. Â The Paul Davis Emergency Response team immediately boarded up the structure to prevent unwanted entry. Â The home was deemed unsafe with many of the structural elements severely damaged from the fire. Â No one was allowed entry until the house was secured structurally, however we still needed to get their personal property out! Â Our solution to this was to secure the damage structural elements with temporary braces and create walkways through the structure to remove all of the personal property. Â We even cut a hole in the side of the house and used a boom lift to get to the second floor to get the contents our with our moving and storage crews. Â This is where expertise pays off. Â We were able to save the contents in a structure that was deemed unsafe.
The house was demolished down to the foundation and thousands of gallons of water were removed from the basement and disposed of at a proper facility.  We soda blasted the existing foundation and basement to remove the fire damage and sealed it to prevent and issue with odor later on and began to build a new house for the family.  Insurance coverage put us at a limited budget but Paul Davis worked with the insurer and the insured to make sure this family ended this ordeal with a brand new home and a return to normalcy
